
Jim Dettore started with Caterpillar™ Dealers as a Hydraulic Shop Machinist in 1990. In the 25 years since then, he has held numerous positions at dealerships across the United States including Product Support Manager, Technical Services Manager, Technical Training Instructor, Service Manager, Field Service Technician and worked most recently as a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Mississippi. He has an education background that includes extensive Caterpillar™ technical and management training, Caterpillar™ LEAN CPS 6 Sigma Black Belt, and Caterpillar™ Flagship Management Training.
Throughout his career Jim has maintained a reputation of being energetic, professional, and personable. Thanks to his strong technical, machining, part salvage and maintenance reliability background Jim has a unique ability to convey technical information effectively to customers, students, managers and executives so they can relate and understand easily, which helps them to firmly grasp the value of the information and how it relates to their business, education, or performance. Outside of FAS, Jim enjoys playing guitar, Jeeping and fishing. Jim and his wife, Maria, have three children. Their family enjoys their church, traveling, music, and a host of other activities.
